The Film with 200 Thousand Actors


In movie called “Gandhi” had about 200,000 people who volunteered as extras (acted crowd).
Another 94560 were paid a small fee to appear in Gandhi’s funeral scene. Gandhi has about 294560 people as extras which is the highest count till now in World’s Cinema History.
In German movie called Kolberg which was released on 1945 had about 187000 people as extras.
South Korean Movie “Monster Wangmagwi” which was released on 1967 had about 157000 people as extras.
Russian Movie “War and Peace” (1968) had about 120000 extras.
Again another Russian Movie “The Sword and the Dragon” had about 106000 extras. While keeping all these aside, American Movie called “Around the World in 80 Days” which was released on 1956 had unique specialty than other films. It had animal extras like 3800 sheep, 2448 buffalos, 950 donkeys, 800 horses, 512 monkeys, 17 bulls, 15 elephants, 6 skunks and 4 ostriches.
